Our Commitment to Professional Service

The Greenhills Police Department is committed to providing professional, courteous, and ethical service to everyone we encounter. We value the trust of our community and believe accountability is essential to maintaining that trust.

If you believe a member of our department has provided exceptional service, we encourage you to let us know. Likewise, if you believe an employee has acted improperly or failed to meet our professional standards, we want to hear from you. Your feedback helps us recognize outstanding employees, improve our service, and ensure we remain accountable to the community we serve.

Filing a Complaint

Anyone may file a complaint regarding the conduct of a member of the Greenhills Police Department. Complaints may be submitted:

  • In person at the Greenhills Police Department
  • By telephone
  • By email
  • Through the department’s website
  • In writing

Complaints may also be submitted anonymously. Every complaint is taken seriously and reviewed appropriately.

What to Expect

After a complaint is received:

  • A supervisor will review the complaint and determine the appropriate course of action.
  • The complainant will generally be contacted within 24 hours.
  • If necessary, a formal administrative investigation will be conducted.
  • Investigations are conducted fairly, thoroughly, and impartially.
  • At the conclusion of the investigation, the complaint will receive an official disposition based on the evidence.

Possible dispositions include:

  • Unfounded – The allegation was determined to be false or did not involve department personnel.
  • Exonerated – The incident occurred, but the employee’s actions were lawful and within department policy.
  • Not Sustained – There was insufficient evidence to either prove or disprove the allegation.
  • Sustained – The investigation found sufficient evidence that misconduct occurred.
